A few more combines are hitting the field everyday now with the big wave coming here after Labor Day weekend. With the early start we are getting this fall it might be a great time to try to get your fertility program lined out. Start with grid sampling and see where you need to go. VRT lime? VRT fertilizer? Over laying yield data with your soil tests? Without a good soil sample you cannot make a good decision on what to do. You might be applying extra fertilizer when your pH is the real problem for example. We have options that will fit virtually every farming situation.
A reminder for any of you who have side by sides out in the fields whether it be seed, pesticide, or fertility don’t forget about collecting the data on them until it is too late. There is nothing worse than taking the time to put out a trial and harvest it without getting the data.
